“Its the smallest of things that add the largest smiles” Amazing what my GIANT bag of goodies (and we are talking dollar store type…) and a very inviting basket of nail polish, does to make a difference in a SICK child’s day-cancer? you cant imagine.
I have been very fortunate to be a volunteer at Comer children’s hospital ,oncology, for over 11 years. It has taken me 10 1/2 years to learn how to leave my emotions with the valet men when I leave. NO JOKE. When you know you made a difference to help a child and his care takers smile, or a parent say to me “my kid doesnt smile unless you come in the room” or “we knew you would be hear today!” puts all things into prospective.
I thank all the familys that have sharred the most personal of things with me.For trusting me. Sometimes its easyer telingl the stanger than anyone else. “ Don’t sweat the small stuff.”..UNDER RATED! From the smallest of things to the over the top needed gifts….TOGETHER WE ALL can make a difference!
